Sharing the poster on social media, Prime Video India wrote, “four friends, one theft, and no turning back #ChaarYaarOnPrime, New Series, Oct 23.” The tagline hints at the central conflict, where a desperate move sets off a chain of events that threatens to change the friends’ lives and test the strength of their bond. With its combination of crime, suspense and interpersonal drama, Chaar Yaar promises to examine what happens when ordinary people find themselves pushed beyond their limits.
Set in Mumbai in the early 2000s, the eight-episode series follows four friends from middle-class backgrounds who turn to theft out of necessity. What begins as an attempt to deal with their circumstances soon spirals into a much more dangerous situation, drawing them into the criminal underworld. As gangsters enter the picture and the police begin closing in, the friends are forced to navigate a series of difficult choices, with their loyalty to one another put to the test. The premise places friendship at the centre of a story where every decision carries consequences.
The series features Purav Jha, Naman Jain, Saqib Ayub and Prayrak Mehta in the lead roles. Their characters form the core of the narrative, with the story tracing how their relationships evolve as they become entangled in crime. The supporting cast includes Sai Tamhankar, Sikandar Kher, Chunky Panday, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Rajesh Tailang and Pankaj Jha, bringing together performers known for their work across films and streaming projects.
Chaar Yaar is directed by Vinay Waikul, who leads the series as it moves between the personal dynamics of the four friends and the escalating dangers surrounding them. The early-2000s setting provides the backdrop for a story shaped by financial pressure, risky decisions and the unpredictable consequences of crossing into the criminal world. As the police pursuit intensifies and the friends find themselves dealing with people far more dangerous than they anticipated, the series looks set to explore the thin line between survival and wrongdoing.
With the poster now out, Prime Video India has officially begun building anticipation for the series ahead of its October premiere. The combination of a four-friend dynamic, a theft that sets the story in motion and a widening web of criminal complications gives Chaar Yaar a premise rooted in both suspense and human relationships. The eight-episode series will premiere globally on Prime Video on October 23, 2026.
